We meet Joseph & his family who live in Katumani.

Farming in such an arid environment, Joseph’s main challenge is water. We learn how drip irrigation not only saves precious water, but has other benefits too, as well as how terraces can conserve the nutrients in the soil.

Joseph also learns the best crops to plant in such a dry area, and how crop diversification and better ploughing methods can help improve his yield.
